Council adopts 12-week summer pass option for Pratt Aquatic Center

The Tooele City Council voted unanimously on Feb. 19 to amend the city fee schedule to offer a 12-week summer pass for the Pratt Aquatic Center.
Darwin Cook, Tooele City Parks and Recreation director, said staff worked to create a summer-pass structure after patrons requested a seasonal convenience option. The proposed pass would run from Memorial Day through the facility’s seasonal closure in late summer (about 12 weeks) and include resident and nonresident pricing tiers and categories for family household passes, single-parent households, military discounts, senior (61 and older) passes, adult and youth passes.
Cook said the pass is intended as a convenience rather than a major revenue driver; it reduces the need for parents to purchase daily entry or 10-punch passes when children attend multiple times per week. He also confirmed the resolution does not raise class fees and focuses on day-entry and seasonal pass structure.
Councilwoman Goches moved to approve Resolution 2025-09 and Councilwoman Manzion seconded. The council voted Aye: Councilman McCall, Councilman Hansen, Councilwoman Goches, Councilwoman Manzion and Councilman Brady. The motion passed 5-0.
