CCRPC approves minor TIP amendments and accepts VTrans safety performance targets

At the Feb. 19 meeting the CCRPC board approved two MPO action items: a set of minor TIP amendments covering 10 projects and the acceptance of statewide safety performance targets established by VTrans.
Christine, a CCRPC staff member, summarized that two projects were driving the TIP adjustments: a paving project in Essex that is being advanced from 2026 to start in 2025, and additional funds needed for the Exit 16 project, which is expected to go to bid soon. The remaining amendments were described as schedule and funding adjustments to align project schedules and cash flows. One board member noted an apparent small line‑item of $475 in a retrofit entry and staff confirmed the correct figure is $400,000 in the table; staff said the small correction would be made.
A motion to approve the minor TIP amendments was made and seconded; the chair called for the vote and the motion passed with no recorded nays or abstentions. The board then moved to the safety performance targets, which CCRPC staff explained are established annually by the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) and forwarded to the MPO for acceptance. A motion to accept the VTrans safety targets for the MPO area was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote with no objections.
Both items were recorded as MPO action items and approved during the meeting; staff will incorporate the amendments into the TIP and proceed with the updated project schedules.
