Board rejects motion to reverse public censure of board member Darnika Reid, 6-3

On Feb. 19 the Woodland Hills School District Board considered motion 18.1, which sought approval to create a resolution reversing the public censure of board member Darnika Reid. Reid moved the motion and it was seconded by Karen Lyons.
Reid addressed the board before the vote, calling her earlier actions "irresponsible" in part and saying she did not "regret what I did," while urging that the issue be handled in public rather than removed from the agenda. "Again, I don't regret what I did," Reid said during her remarks.
The board opened the vote and the motion to create a resolution to reverse the censure failed 3–6.
No additional resolution was created at the meeting, and the record shows the censure remained in effect pending any future board action.
