Parks board member praises city parks, volunteers and recent projects during public comment

Marshall described work on pathways, horseshoe pits and repurposed park buildings that hosted state horseshoe tournaments, said the Eighteenth Street Plaza and other campus improvements were "fantastic," and thanked staff for hiring and maintenance work. He noted tree losses in the parks and urged continuation of a tree program that helps residents plant trees. "You have a wonderful staff here that really is interested in our park system," Marshall said.
He thanked the council and staff for movies in the park and other community programs and invited councilmembers to a Parks Board meeting the following Wednesday at 6 p.m.
