Troy Human Relations Commission elects officers, approves January minutes and sets May meeting

The Troy Human Relations Commission elected new officers, approved the January minutes and set its next regular meeting during a brief session on Thursday, Feb. 20.
Commissioners approved the minutes from the January meeting by voice vote and then moved to elect officers. Miss Billaboz was nominated and confirmed as secretary. The commission then voted to elect Sonia Holy Cross as chairperson and John Keller as vice chair; members approved that motion by voice vote. The group later settled on May 15 at 6 p.m. as the next meeting date.
Roll call at the start of the meeting recorded that Mr. Major was absent; several commissioners including Miss Billaboz, John Keller, Sonia Holy Cross and the commission’s newest member, Robert Lewis, were present. Members made the motions and recorded unanimous voice approval for the motions during the meeting; no roll-call vote tally naming each member was entered in the transcript.
Commissioners discussed scheduling constraints for April and noted several members’ limited availability; after short discussion they selected the mid-May date and 6 p.m. as the likely start time.
The commission scheduled time on the May agenda to continue planning for a July 18 unveiling of an Ohio historical marker and related ceremonial arrangements.
