At its Jan. 9 meeting the Framingham School Committee recorded final votes on several agenda items: the roof appropriation amendment (see separate article), two new student activity accounts, an amended Tech Collaborative membership agreement and routine approvals for gifts, a field trip and minutes.
Key outcomes:
- Student activity accounts: The committee approved two new student activity groups for Framingham High School — Brazilian Girls Club and Mind Over Muscle. The motion passed unanimously among members present; District 6 was absent.
- Tech Collaborative agreement amendment: The committee voted to approve an amended Tech Collaborative agreement to admit King Philip Regional School District and Sharon Public Schools effective July 1, 2025; the Tech Board of Directors had voted unanimously on Dec. 13, 2024. The committee’s vote met its Jan. 31 deadline to register the decision.
- Gifts and field trips: The committee accepted a bundle of gifts for Fuller High School (including donations to cover two AP exam fees and other activity support) and approved an environmental science field trip to Camp Denison in Georgetown, Mass.
- Minutes: The committee approved open session minutes from Nov. 20, 2024.
All motions were approved by roll call where recorded; the committee noted District 6 was not present for some votes.
