Commission grants DEP exploratory rights-of-entry for abandoned mine-land design work on county parcels

Karen Cowell of Kleinfelder described two projects affecting county properties: one project involving 10 county parcels and another involving a single county parcel. The requested rights-of-entry are exploratory: survey and environmental teams will visit sites to collect information necessary to produce 60% design plans. Cowell said she will return to the commission with construction right-of-entry requests when design plans reach the construction stage.
The commission approved the exploratory rights-of-entry by voice vote with the chair calling for signatures to authorize access. Staff recorded three separate rights-of-entry documents (dividing the 10-parcel project into multiple entries) for administrative clarity.
