Following a closed executive session on a pending real-estate matter, the Harrison County Commission voted to continue negotiations on a Route 19 parcel and to hire a structural (and civil) engineer to review a specific drive-in/crib structure that may affect the property transfer.
The commission’s intent is to continue negotiating terms with the property owner and to have a structural engineer assess the crib/drive area that would remain with the private owner under the proposed agreement. Staff said the transaction was not complete and that confidentiality was required for ongoing discussions.
The motion recorded at the meeting directed staff to continue negotiations and to procure engineering services to identify needed structural work and assess site conditions. Commissioners approved the motion by voice vote; no environmental study was authorized at this time and commissioners asked staff to return with follow-on recommendations.
