The project has been in planning and partial development for more than a decade; staff told the council the EDA acquired the site about 20'1 years ago and has worked with private developers and state partners through several iterations. "So ultimately, why I'm here today is to request money, and that's on your agenda," Deputy City Manager Kevin Hughes said during the work session.
