Boone listed the cases that will appear before the Board of Zoning Appeals, including: a special exception for ground-floor residential conversion at 309 High Street; requests for interior side-yard setback reductions at addresses described in staff materials (including 22108 High Street, 2112 High Street, 1306 Fillmore Street, 1211 Center Avenue and an Auger Street property); and a special exception at 2809 Airline Boulevard to install fencing with barbed wire for security.
Staff also informed the commission that Adams Outdoor Advertising’s request to rezone a 1.3-acre parcel at 3711 Victory Boulevard from General Mixed Use (GMU) to Light Industrial (IL), and the companion use-permit request to install an outdoor advertising sign, were withdrawn by the applicant.
Boone provided brief context for the properties, noting one longtime vacant property on Airline Boulevard that a new business expects to occupy and that some properties in the High Street area have irregular lot shapes affecting conversions and setbacks. The commission asked no substantive follow-up questions during the briefing.
