Board schedules adoption of updated ethics, volunteer and nonpublic‑student services policies

During its Feb. 11 meeting the Rye City School District Board held a second reading of three policies and agreed to bring them forward for adoption at the March meeting.
Policy updates included minor revisions to the school building volunteers policy, updates to the school district officer and employee code of ethics (changes informed by the New York State School Boards Association guidance), and a new policy addressing programs and services for parentally placed nonpublic school students with disabilities. The administration reported there were no additional questions following the first reading and will present the policies for adoption at the March meeting.
Ending: The policies will return for a formal vote in March with the administration and legal counsel having incorporated NISBA guidance where noted.
