The Rye City School District Board of Education unanimously approved its consent agenda Feb. 11, adopting a slate of routine fiscal and personnel items and accepting several donations.
By vote (6–0, one absence), the board approved a resolution to establish a board of registration so residents may complete voter‑registration forms during the April period leading to the district budget and trustee vote on May 20. The consent agenda also accepted donations: $19,781 from the Rye softball booster club for a new softball scoreboard (a joint project with the Rye Fund for Education); $10,118.98 from the Rye Fund for Education to support Wonder Books at Midland School (with an expectation of sharing results across buildings per grant requirements); and $21,963.45 for Project Adventure programming at the high school for grades 9–12.
The board also approved tenure for Samantha Pacheco; the district said Ms. Pacheco will be formally recognized at the district’s June tenure reception.
The consent agenda motion was moved by Sean Klopferer, seconded by Valerie Latham, and carried 6–0 with one absence.
Ending: Accepted donations will be applied as designated and the board-registration resolution sets up voter‑registration opportunities ahead of the May 20 budget and trustee election.
