Socorro ISD trustees approve proclamations for National School Breakfast Week and Theater in Our Schools Month

Shelly Chinoski, director of Child Nutrition Services, asked the board to approve the breakfast proclamation and said the district's child nutrition program is "proudly self funded and sustained," noting the district has served 2,467,386 student breakfast meals to date. A motion to approve the proclamation was made by Mrs. Macias and seconded by Ms. Garreia; the board approved the item by voice vote.
Armando Martinez, the district's director of fine arts, presented the theater proclamation and summarized the district's arts accomplishments. A motion to approve that proclamation was made by Mr. Guerra and seconded by Mrs. Najera; the board approved the item by voice vote.
Both proclamations were ceremonial acknowledgments approved by the board. The motions and seconds were taken and each item passed on an oral vote; no roll-call tally was provided in the meeting record.
