At the Feb. 20 meeting, a program representative described the Senior Minor Home Rehabilitation Program, a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) initiative that provides grants to eligible low- and moderate-income seniors for minor home repairs.
"It is a CDBG funded program that offers grants up to $17,255 to our eligible low to moderate income seniors for any minor home rehab programs, such as wheelchair ramps, tub conversions, or reroofs," the speaker, Caitlin Wing, told the planning commission.
Wing said the city has received four project applications so far and estimated the current grant funding would allow about 10 projects. She told the commission that program flyers and interest forms are available at city hall and that information is posted on the city website under grant programs.
The remarks came during the meeting’s public-comment/community-input portion. The presentation was informational; there was no commission action associated with the program report.
