Alderman Marzak moved to approve the minutes and Alderman Tully seconded; the roll call returned unanimous aye votes from the members present. Alderman Lewis moved to approve the January bills (total $647.81) and Alderman Cobbs seconded; the motion also passed on a unanimous roll call. The meeting concluded with a motion to adjourn that passed without dissent.
Director Nelson delivered the director—s report. She said the committee received an animal-control bill for January of $890 and a permits report showing 58 permits for a total of $14,885.33. Nelson also noted an adjudication report spanning 10 pages and told members she expects multiple interviews next week to fill code-department vacancies.
During new business the committee briefly discussed an upcoming citywide software implementation for code and permitting; Director Nelson said staff anticipate the system will save staff time and improve recordkeeping once deployed. Committee members set no formal votes on policy or contracts under new business and kept the animal-control contract on the old-business calendar for further review.
