The York Suburban School District Board of School Directors voted 7–1 on Feb. 10 to proceed with planning and design for a new pool as part of high-school renovations following months of study and public comment.
The vote came after several residents, parents and athletes urged the board to include a new pool in the high-school renovation plans. Ring Caputo, speaking for swim parents and students, told the board the current pool has “deeper issues” that keep teams out of the pool and urged trustees to “vote in favor of a new pool.” Jim Polanski and other public commenters said a new facility would widen opportunities for students and the community.
