A Plum Borough resident told the board he is concerned about the conduct of leaders of the Plum Mustang Foundation on social media and asked the district to clarify whether it has any official affiliation with the foundation.
"I'd like to know what the district's affiliation is with the Plum Mustang Foundation," Justin Baloo said during the public‑comment period. Baloo said foundation leaders "have been repeatedly found to have its leaders bully adults all over social media and this community," and asked why the district would endorse a foundation whose leaders participate in that behavior while asking students not to bully.
Baloo described online arguments on a community Facebook page involving foundation leaders and said the exchanges included "bully and bash" language and a podcast that repeatedly targeted a concerned resident. He said some people associated with the foundation did reach out to him and that there are "fantastic individuals" in the foundation, but that accountability for leaders matters to him given his family's experience with bullying: "I lost my brother to suicide in Plum ... it was majorly due to bullying. Accountability needs to be taken seriously when you're in these positions," Baloo said.
The board thanked Baloo for speaking; no district response or action was recorded during the discussion item. The public‑comment period proceeded to other agenda items.
