Brattleboro pilot seeks $400,000 to continue SASH for All, $2 million to expand statewide

Christine Hazard, executive director of Brattleboro Housing Partnerships, said the pilot serves about 250 Vermonters and provides nursing, embedded wellness clinic, and mental health clinicians to coordinate complex care needs. Hazard described a family who received intensive coordination after a parent required life‑altering surgery and credited the pilot with preventing deterioration in health and housing stability.
Hazard requested $400,000 to continue the current pilot and $2,000,000 to expand SASH for All statewide to serve approximately 1,200 people in higher‑need areas. She warned that without the $400,000 the Brattleboro pilot would end and participants would lose services.
Why it matters: Supporters said SASH for All coordinates health, housing and social services and can reduce acute care needs by addressing chronic and complex conditions in community settings.
The committees did not take action; the testimony will be part of FY26 budget deliberations.
