Resident asks Plum Borough SD to review ties to Plum Mustang Foundation following social‑media bullying concerns

Justin Baloo, a parent of two Plum Borough SD students, told the board during the public‑comment portion of the Feb. 11 discussion meeting that he wants clarity about the district’s relationship with the Plum Mustang Foundation and urged accountability for foundation leaders he said have bullied community members on social media.
“My name is Justin Baloo. I live in Regency Park. I have 2 children who currently attend PBSD,” Baloo said, and asked whether the district is “affiliated with the Plum Mustang Foundation.” He said foundation leaders have “been repeatedly found to have its leaders bully adults all over social media and this community” and called that behavior “disturbing” and “should not be tolerated.”
Baloo asked the board to consider how the district can reconcile an endorsement of community foundations while asking students not to be bullies. He said some foundation members reached out to him after his post and that some foundation volunteers do positive work for the community, but said accountability is necessary given the alleged harassment.
Board members offered condolences when Baloo said he lost a brother to suicide in 2008 and connected that loss to bullying. The board did not take action in response to the comment during the discussion meeting; the matter was recorded as a public comment for the minutes.
