Moraine to hold Easter egg hunt April 12; organizers cut oldest age group and say 6,000 eggs prepared

Parks staff told the Moraine City Council the city’s annual Easter egg hunt will be held April 12 at 10 a.m. at the recreation center and staff will run a similar outside setup as in prior years.
Organizers said they removed the 18-and-older age group and kept the 13-to-17 group; the ADA-specific area used last year was also removed because no one used it, staff said. "So we eliminated the teens, because or not teens, 18 plus. Sorry. 13 to 17 will still be there," the staff member said.
Staff said about 6,000 eggs "might be packed and ready to go," and two part-time staff have led preparations. The event will include an opportunity for photos with the Easter bunny inside the facility; staff said they will keep some of the existing setup in the building to allow for pictures.
The bands WGI are scheduled to be in town the same day; staff said the band schedule will likely mean WGI will play around noon while the egg hunt runs at 10 a.m. Organizers asked council members to help on the day of the event and said volunteer assignments will be communicated by email. No formal council action was taken on the egg-hunt plans during the meeting.
