The Lemoore Police Department presented its 2024 annual report to the City Council on Feb. 18, reporting 36,673 calls for service and a decrease in total Part I crimes compared with the previous year.
Police leadership said officers issued 1,748 citations in 2024, including 681 moving violations, 565 warnings and 243 parking citations. The department reported 137 DUI arrests and noted vehicle-theft recoveries tied to a license‑plate‑capture camera system that went live Aug. 22: "In a little over 4 months that it was in service, we recovered 12 stolen vehicles and made an arrest in each case," the chief said.
Why it matters: Council and public questions focused on patrol presence, animal-control volumes and crime reporting. The report also emphasized the department’s community programs — youth officers, neighborhood watch groups and a reserve officer program that contributed thousands of hours.
Details: The detective division processed 290 cases and the evidence technician processed over 17,596 evidence items. School resource officers handled more than 1,000 incidents and wrote more than 100 cases; community-service officers handled 3,710 calls for service, including property‑maintenance and weed abatements. Animal control responded to 1,117 calls — the chief estimated those included roughly 200–300 dogs and about 100–200 cats but did not provide exact totals.
The department credited volunteers for 3,836 hours of service across programs and emphasized outreach events such as National Night Out and Santa for Seniors. The written report will be posted on the department’s web page.
