MPO approves time extension for WSP USA Inc. on 2025MTP update; contract amount unchanged

The Laredo MPO Policy Committee on Feb. 19 approved contract amendment No. 1 with WSP USA Inc. to extend the completion date for the 2025to-2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan update from March 4, 2025, to June 4, 2025. The committee was told the contract amount will remain the same.
An MPO staff member presented the request for the extension and said the contractor is completing printing and closeout documents and is continuing to assist with baseline data for the congestion-management process. The staff member said the extension was requested by the MPO to finish outstanding items. "No. Actually, the MTP was already accepted by FHWA and FDA as well," the staff member said during discussion, noting federal acceptance of the document and ongoing staff work.
A motion to approve the amendment was moved and seconded; the motion carried. The committee did not record a roll-call tally in the meeting transcript.
What it means: The extension changes only the completion date; the contract value remains unchanged. MPO staff indicated the extension will allow finishing deliverables, printing and transfer of baseline data that will support the congestion management process and related implementation tasks.
Follow-up: MPO staff were assigned to execute the amendment and continue coordination with WSP USA Inc. and federal partners. No further action was recorded at the meeting.
