TRC conditionally approves South Walton Mosquito Control fleet parking garage

The Walton County Technical Review Committee on Feb. 19 conditionally approved an application from the South Walton Mosquito Control District to build a 16,670-square-foot fleet parking garage on roughly 9.82 acres at 774 North County Highway 393.

County staff recommended conditional approval, saying most technical reviews are complete and remaining comments are minor and can be addressed in a resubmittal. Committee staff member Bob (staff) said the project is a continuation of previously approved improvements and requested conditional approval because of the applicant’s contractor timeline. "There are really no comments and because of their timeline with their contractor we'd like to move it for conditional approval pending successful resubmittal," Bob said.

John Nash of O'Connell Associates, who represents the applicant, said this is the second phase of a previously approved master plan and that the infrastructure was completed as part of phase one: "This is the second phase of [the] master plan that was done out there. The infrastructure was done as part of phase 1. This is just building a new building out there." Nash told the committee he is not aware of any outstanding reviewer comments.

No members of the public spoke on the item. The committee took a voice vote and the chair declared the motion carried. The conditional approval requires the applicant to resubmit revised plans addressing any outstanding comments; staff will verify the resubmittal before the project advances.

The project is listed in the staff report with parcel identification; the staff report was entered into the record at the meeting.
