Jade Woodson, principal of William Foster Elementary School, told the Garfield Heights City School District Board of Education on Feb. 18 that the school’s 2023–24 report card shows a 2.5-star rating and that several early-year measures have improved.
Woodson said kindergarten students showed a roughly 5% increase in “on track” early-literacy measures compared with last year’s winter results, and winter math screening showed about a 12% increase in students “on track” compared with the prior year. She said first-grade results have held steady and that staff see “gains” but acknowledge “there’s work to do.”
