- Curb cuts: The board accepted curb-cut applications for 220 Stevens Street and 232 Stevens Street after departmental review found no issues.
- Saint John’s loading zone/signage: Petitioners asked for loading-zone signage in front of a business that abuts a curb cut. The board concluded existing prohibitions at the curb cut already prohibit parking and voted to deny new signage and instead enforce the current curb-cut parking prohibition. The board said it would monitor the effect and could revisit the matter later.
- Green School drop-off: The board voted to deny a general request to create more parking at Green School, noting the traffic department cannot create additional curbside spaces; staff invited the school or parents to submit a specific implementable proposal.
- Alden Street (Lindo’s Cafe): The request to remove long-standing no-parking signs was tabled so traffic staff can inspect the block and report back; owners will receive a follow-up letter.
- Quikashant–County study: The board directed staff to perform a traffic study and to notify abutters before returning recommendations to the board (item tabled to next meeting for staff findings).
- Doyle Street (tractor-trailer access): The board approved an extension of existing no-parking signage on Doyle Street to aid truck movements after reviewing photos and the hydrant placement.
- Pine Street (veterans center): The board tabled the one-way request and instructed staff to contact abutters and return with feedback.
- Handicap parking applications: The board processed a docket of residential handicap-parking requests. A number were approved, several were tabled for site inspections (to verify garage usability or other off-street parking), and at least one was denied because the applicant has off-street parking access (a disqualifying condition under the board’s criteria). Applicants who were approved were told to expect an approval letter in about 12 weeks.
