Council approves substitute to add nighttime property‑standards enforcement to Office of Nightlife MOU

The council approved a substitute to Bill 20 25 6 89 on a voice vote to add Title 16, Chapter 24 to a memorandum of understanding that extends cooperative enforcement of Title 7 and Chapter 9.20 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws to include nighttime property‑standards matters handled by the Office of Nightlife.

The substitute creates a pilot under which two compliance inspectors assigned to the Office of Nightlife will be trained by property‑standards staff to handle noise complaints and property‑standards violations that occur at night. The pilot will be based downtown initially, with the director of the Office of Nightlife overseeing the positions and coordination with precincts for officer support when inspectors operate in other neighborhoods.
