Caroline Swift, president of the Laguna Niguel Chamber of Commerce, told the City Council on Jan. 21, 2025, that the chamber’s Shop, Dine & Win promotion ran from Nov. 15 through Dec. 31 and generated roughly 400 separate entries.
Swift said entries were submitted through a smartphone app and promoted via social media, email and the city’s holiday parade. “Nearly $100,000 was spent in this effort and an average of $70 per entry,” she said.
The chamber drew three gift-card prizes during the council meeting. Swift and chamber staff announced the third-place winner, Maggie Lee, who received $250 in gift cards; a second-place winner listed by the chamber as John received $500 in gift cards; and a first-place winner identified in the meeting as Anne Boudre received $1,000 in gift cards.
Why it matters: The chamber described the program as a tool to drive local spending at Laguna Niguel businesses over the holiday period. The council thanked the chamber for partnering with the city to promote small businesses.
No council motions or votes were taken regarding the chamber presentation; the segment was a ceremonial/business update.
