Resident asks Brentwood council to form committee after downtown bicyclist confrontation

“I would expect it if a committee is formed, certainly the Police Department would be part of that committee,” Cole said. He described police response to the incident as professional and calm and said three police cars arrived, young people were detained briefly, and later released; Cole said he was “uncertain as to what the final disposition of the case was.”
Cole said the group of bicyclists is “well known in Brentwood” and that the behavior has been ongoing “for at least 2 years.” He characterized the conduct as “willful disruption, intimidation, and threatening behavior” rather than ordinary bicycle riding and told the council he wanted recommendations aimed at deterrence.
