Lillian Pierce, representing the Brentwood Regional Community Chest, thanked the Brentwood City Council and staff for long-term support and said the nonprofit served 500 families in the last year.
Pierce told the council the group’s Adopt-a-Senior program, run through “Brentwood Strong,” helped 130 seniors this year. “I always comment that we have a wonderful community, people are so generous and so supportive that we've been doing this for almost for 50 something years, and I just wanted to thank everybody,” Pierce said.
The remarks came during the public comment portion of the Jan. 14 meeting. Pierce did not seek any formal action from the council; her comment was a public expression of thanks and a summary of the group’s recent activity.
The council did not take action on the item; the public comment closed and the meeting moved to other agenda items.
