The Rialto City Council voted on Feb. 11 to appoint Tanya Williams as the city manager and approved an employment agreement with disclosed compensation.
City staff told the council the city conducted a nationwide recruitment that produced 29 applicants, narrowed to seven interviewees and a final three, with Williams selected as the top candidate. The agenda item noted Williams has worked in public management and with the city since 2022 in management roles.
During the meeting the city stated the base salary for the position, as required under California law, is $359,195. The council approved the appointment and employment agreement by roll call; staff said Williams’ official start date would be Feb. 11, 2025.
Williams addressed the council, saying, “It’s such an honor to serve as your next City Manager… I appreciate the confidence from the City Council for me to serve in this role, and I look forward to working with all of you, the community, as well as our dedicated staff to continuing our great work here.” Council members offered congratulations and noted expectations for stability and continuity under her leadership.
