The district has a simulator and staff said Lieutenant Colonel Edmonds (JROTC) will be involved; staff also reported the district has purchased a drone previously and Edmonds has agreed to help secure an additional drone for training.
Shoemaker said the teacher assigned to the course must complete provider training and that courses will be routed through the curriculum approval process before being added to the program of studies. Administrators asked the board to place the curriculum agreement on Thursday’s agenda for approval so staff can train teachers and finalize course offerings.
The board did not approve program specifics at the meeting; staff said they will return with course descriptions and any required approvals once teacher training is complete.
