Business and finance staff said the district will pause its work with Market Street, an advertising partner, after limited progress on fundraising and sponsor acquisition and will notify booster clubs of the change.
Mr. Marks explained staff met with Market Street but that the firm has not generated the expected advertising or sponsor revenue. To avoid hamstringing booster‑club fundraising—boosters reported difficulty proceeding under the existing contract—Marks recommended pausing the contract until the district can align sponsorship opportunities with the timing of the stadium/turf construction. He said staff planned to email booster groups to notify them the district will be on hold with Market Street so boosters can continue their traditional fundraising activities, including major annual events.
A board member noted that, depending on whether Market Street had already received sponsor transactions, there could be contractual complications; staff said if no transactions occurred it would be straightforward to pause or terminate the agreement and that, in any event, the district believes it can exit the contract if needed.
No formal contract termination was approved at the meeting; staff said they will notify boosters and return to the board if further action is required.
