Referendum set for April 1; village board sets library parking minimum, library to request storage space

During the Feb. 19 meeting the Library Board President updated members on village-level developments: a referendum on the library project is scheduled for April 1, 2025, and the village has engaged Miller Communications to provide public information about the referendum and the project. The president said those materials and a capital-campaign tab are posted on the village’s library project page.
The president also reported that the Village Board voted at its recent meeting to set a minimum parking requirement for libraries and museums at one parking space per 400 square feet. The president said she will forward a formal request for storage space — to hold materials and supplies accumulated for library programming — on behalf of library staff to village staff and the Village Board for its March 3 meeting.
No vote or action on storage space was taken by the library board at the Feb. 19 meeting; the president said she would submit the request to the village board so it can be considered at an upcoming meeting.
The board chair reminded members where to find referendum and capital campaign materials on the village website and encouraged continued promotion of programs and information during the outreach period.
