Greene County Commission approves minutes, land repurchase and several contracts; rescinds rights of first refusal

The Greene County Commission approved a series of motions during the meeting, including minutes, a contract amendment, a land repurchase and a mowing contract, and voted to rescind previously held rights of first refusal.
The commission unanimously approved the minutes from its January 16 meeting after a motion by Commissioner Scott and a second by Commissioner Joshua.
Commissioners approved the First Amendment to the Certified Tech Park agreement. County staff explained the amendment is largely a technical cleanup and that a state statute change caused the amendment to reference July 1, 2023. Commissioner Joshua moved to approve the amendment and Commissioner Scott seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
On a proposal raised in prior discussions, the commission voted to repurchase Lot Number 9 at Progress Point from OneEager Construction. Commissioner Karen made the motion; Commissioner Scott seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Relatedly, the commission approved a mutual rescission of the rights of first refusal on Lots 4 through 8. County legal counsel indicated the originally executed right of first refusal had called for a token $500 consideration; the commission moved to rescind that right. Commissioner Joshua moved the rescission and Commissioner Karen seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The commission also approved Resolution 2025-01; Commissioner Scott moved and Commissioner Joshua seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Finally, the commission approved the Big Bear Ridge mowing proposal and associated contract. Commissioner Scott moved to approve the proposal and Commissioner Joshua seconded; commissioners voted aye and the motion passed.
All recorded motions were approved without recorded dissent during this meeting.
