Rowan County reappoints Tim Proper to EDC board; approves amended consent agenda

The Rowan County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 17, 2025, approved an amended meeting agenda, approved the consent agenda as amended and reappointed Tim Proper to another term on the Economic Development Commission board of directors.
The board chair introduced an added consent item submitted by Nick Aceves and added a board appointment to the regular agenda. The board approved the agenda as amended and then approved the consent agenda; both actions were recorded in the transcript as voice votes with no recorded opposition.
For the appointment the presiding commissioner moved to reappoint Tim Proper to another term on the EDC board of directors; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The transcript records that no members of the public had signed up to speak on the appointment. The meeting noted Commissioner Pierce was “a little under the weather” and absent.
Other brief items at the meeting included a ceremonial prayer delivered by Chaplain Taylor and a special-recognition proclamation for the South Rowan High School competition cheer team (presented and approved earlier in the meeting).
