The Token Municipal Golf Authority voted unanimously to appoint Fred Moore as course manager and approved routine business items, including minutes from its Jan. 21 and Feb. 10, 2025 meetings and payment of purchase orders for January 2025.
The actions clear the way for Moore, who has already been volunteering at the course, to take a formal role while staff confirm insurance and workers’ compensation details. Board members said officials would seek guidance from OMAG, the authority’s insurance provider, on whether volunteers can be covered under existing policies and whether Moore or other volunteers must sign waivers.
Board members approved the minutes of the Jan. 21, 2025 meeting and the Feb. 10, 2025 meeting by roll call votes, with all recorded members voting yes. The authority also approved payment of January purchase orders by unanimous roll call.
During discussion before the appointment, trustees and staff identified several outstanding administrative questions: whether volunteers are covered by the authority’s workers’ compensation or general liability policies, what coverage options OMAG can provide, and whether a waiver should be required for Moore and other volunteers. Staff members Johnny and Danny were reported to be reaching out to OMAG to clarify those points; the board said it expected an answer soon.
Moore, whom trustees described as already doing work at the course, was described by trustees as willing to sign any necessary forms to address liability concerns. Trustees directed staff to sort out insurance and waiver language quickly so Moore’s duties and volunteer involvement could be formalized without delay.
Trustees also noted that Moore will provide a course manager report at the next meeting; they asked that Moore send a written report to Susan two days before that meeting so copies can be made for trustees.
