Board authorizes advertisement for bids on $4M North Hartford Park renovation

The Board of Estimates on Feb. 19 authorized the Bureau of Procurement to advertise for bids for Phase 1 of the North Hartford Park renovation.
Reginald Moore, Director, Baltimore City Recreation and Parks, described the scope: a new playground, baseball field, football field, concrete walking path, storm‑water management facilities, landscape improvements and a splash pad upgrade. Moore said the project will support neighborhood fitness and field use, noting the baseball field is used by Reginald F. Lewis High School.
The department proposed to advertise on a Friday with bids opening April 2. Moore gave an estimated project cost range of $4 million to $4.7 million. Board members clarified that the authorization was for advertising and bid solicitation only; final award and spending approvals will return to the board after procurement and compliance review.
The board approved the advertisement by voice vote.
