Board approves agenda, financial reports, open-enrollment rules and donations

The Plymouth Joint School District Board of Education approved a package of routine and substantive items at its meeting, including the consent agenda, designation of open-enrollment availability for the 2025–26 school year, acceptance of the district audit for fiscal year 2023–24 and several community donations.
The consent agenda approved minutes from the Dec. 17, 2024, board meeting, the financial report for July 1–Dec. 31, 2024, and bills for Dec. 1–Dec. 31, 2024 in the amount of $2,156,392.85. Board members voted to adopt the agenda and the consent agenda as the order of business before considering individual items.
The board also approved administration’s recommendation on open enrollment spaces for 2025–26: unlimited availability for regular education seats in all models and no available seats for special education services, including speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy and third-party services for vision, hearing impairment and orientation and mobility.
Trustees voted to accept the district’s 2023–24 audit report. During the meeting Amy (audit presenter) clarified by email that an amount listed on the statement as a grant for the turf project is actually a donation and was recorded as a receivable for that project.
The board accepted three gifts and related budget adjustments: $300 from True North (Pay at the Pump funds), an anonymous donation of $30,000 earmarked for student mental health needs and district promotion, and 120 poinsettias to distribute to high-school staff.
Motions on each item passed on voice vote; the transcript records the board chair asking for “all in favor” and members responding “yes.” The transcript does not list roll-call tallies with individual member votes.
