Bryan Council accepts $5.43 million in donations for amphitheater fund

Bryan City Council on Feb. 17 approved Resolution No. 132025 to accept a donation package to support the city amphitheater and to add donor names to the amphitheater account.
A Parks and Recreation representative asked the council to approve the resolution so Parks and Rec could have the donated funds appropriated into the amphitheater line. The representative also asked the council to add 14 additional donors to donor recognition for amphitheater events.
The council approved the resolution by unanimous voice vote after a motion and second. One council member queried the spelling of names on the donor list and staff said the clerk’s office would verify correct spellings before publication.
The resolution authorizes the acceptance of the funds; appropriation of the money into the Parks and Recreation budget will occur as part of the appropriation process.
