Pikesville Armory backers ask county to continue funding redevelopment and project management

Kristen Ziminski, director of operations at the Pikesville Armory, and Ruth Goldstein of Thousand Friends of Pikesville urged continued county funding for the armory project and for related downtown revitalization work. Ziminski said the project will provide recreation, a senior center, small-business incubation and green space, and asked the county to fund a project manager position to help implement revitalization plans.
Beth Reingold of the Greater Baltimore Chamber of Commerce and Tom Fekker of the Pikesville Improvement Corporation spoke in support of funding for capital projects, streetscape improvements and a promenade concept north of the library. They also requested continued funding for signature community events and for preliminary engineering and sidewalk repairs tied to state highway projects.
Ending: Local partners said continued county support is critical to turning the armory redevelopment and downtown revitalization plans into completed projects and asked officials to maintain or increase current commitments during the FY26 budget process.
