Council adopts amendment aligning weed/dead tree abatement costs with nuisance abatements

Planner Dixon told council the change clarifies the amount the city may charge when it performs an abatement for weeds or dead trees and standardizes the cost structure. The Planning Department and staff recommended the update; Planning Commission had reviewed the change and recommended adoption.
There was no public comment at the hearing. Councilor Richardson moved the ordinance on second reading; Councilor Bowling seconded. The roll call vote was 9-0 in favor.
Staff indicated the amendment’s purpose is clarification of municipal fee/charge application; the ordinance did not include specific dollar figures in the discussion at the meeting.
