Local resident urges Fremont County commissioners to enforce library content review

Lander said she provided the board with copies of a proposed policy and an email sent to legislators on the judiciary committee. She said that although some material in collections may date back decades, directors should first review materials they have acquired during their tenures. She emphasized she did not want criminal punishment: "No. I never wanna see anybody go to jail."
Commissioners accepted the materials Lander provided; no motion or directive was made at the meeting to change library procedures or to request staff follow‑up. The comment was recorded as public input to inform possible future discussion.
Ending: The board did not take action on library policy during the session; Lander left copies of her proposed policy with commissioners.
