Chair Poushey moved the motion; the roll call recorded nine ayes and no nays.
The committee also approved a set of House resolutions authorizing public use of the House chamber. Representative Rachel Prouty (District 73) asked the committee to allow the Missouri Youth Leadership Forum for students with disabilities to use the chamber, calling the program one of her favorites and saying it gives "youngsters with disabilities [an opportunity] to come in and advocate for themselves." Representative Sparks and others described similar chamber usages for Glory Awards and other community ceremonies; Representative Barry Hovis stood in for Representative Dolan to present an attorney swearing-in event.
A state public advocate, Arnie C., testified in support of multiple chamber-usage resolutions and said he had reviewed the sponsoring organizations and was "going on record as supporting all of these uses of the house chambers." Committee members recorded each resolution vote as 9-0.
