Madison County Board adopts four routine resolutions including county-clerk position and dog-shelter agreement

Madison County’s Board of Supervisors adopted four resolutions during its Jan. 7, 2025 meeting in Wampsville, all by voice vote.
The board approved a resolution of appreciation recognizing two county retirees. The board named Joe Bars (heavy equipment operator, highway department) and Pete Croquay (senior crew supervisor, highway department, Wampsville) as retirees; Bars was noted as traveling in Florida and Croquay was described as having 22 years of county service and a background as a farmer. The resolution was moved from the Government Operations Committee and carried by voice vote.
Supervisors also approved a resolution creating a full-time position in the County Clerk’s Office. The motion passed by voice vote after a second was recorded.
The board authorized submission of an application for a Local Government Performance and Efficiency Program grant. The motion to authorize the application was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
Finally, the board authorized the chairman to enter into an agreement with Wanderers' Rest Humane Association for dog-shelter services. That resolution was presented by the Health and Human Services Committee, moved and seconded, and approved by voice vote.
There were no public comments during the meeting’s two public-comment periods, and the board later moved into executive session for legal counsel.
