Jefferson County legislators approve broad slate of budget amendments, grants and contracts; enter executive session on labor talks

Jefferson County legislators on Feb. — at their regular monthly meeting — approved a large package of resolutions that amended 2024 and 2025 budgets, authorized grant agreements and approved service contracts spanning elections, airport capital work, public health programs and social services. The board then went into executive session to discuss labor negotiations.

The votes covered routine and programmatic authorizations: election grants and software maintenance for the Board of Elections; allocations tied to passenger facility charges and several projects at Watertown International Airport, including terminal access road and approach lighting; multiple public-health and human-services budget reappropriations and grant recognitions; professional services contracts, intermunicipal shared-services agreements and funding for transportation and probation services.

The meeting produced near-unanimous approval on the items presented. Several measures were approved by roll call; two legislators were recorded as excused earlier in the meeting. After completing business the board voted to enter executive session to discuss labor negotiations under the cited statutory authority.
