The vendor estimate presented to the board listed an approximate total of $26,400, and staff said assembly, labeling and setup time were included in the pricing.
Supervisor Travis moved to approve the purchase; the motion passed after the board voted "aye." The county clerk said the requested funds will come from the general supplemental line of the election budget for FY2026.
The board discussion addressed installation and whether equipment could be paid from the IT budget; staff clarified the expense will be charged to the election department budget but may be coded to a data-processing line. The board also discussed timing for receiving a demonstration before a larger fall election and whether grant funding for election equipment had been advertised; staff said no active grants were identified.
