Sylvania City Council voted to authorize the administration to advertise for bids for roof replacements at three pump station buildings and to inspect three additional municipal buildings, with an engineer's estimate of $82,000.
Mr. Shaw described the six locations: Brent Pumping Station (Main and Brent), the Maplewood Avenue meters building, and the Monroe Street sanitary sewer pumping station will receive roof replacements. The administration also requested inspections at the maintenance garage on Harroun Road, the council chambers/police department roof, and a small Maple Drive pumping station so staff have cost estimates for future work.
The project was included in the 2025 budget and account numbers for the water and sewer funds were listed; council moved to authorize advertising for bids and approved the motion by voice vote. Miss Stout made the motion to authorize advertising for bids and a second was recorded before the voice vote that carried the motion.
Shaw said final assignments of work to specific accounts and buildings will be made once bids are received.
