Senate reads first time five bills on health data, transportation, opioid funds and trade with committee referrals
Summary
The Senate gave first readings to S.74 (consumer health-data limits), S.75 (transportation initiatives), S.76 (health equity data reporting), S.77 (opioid abatement appropriations), and S.78 (Vermont–Ireland Trade Commission). Each bill was assigned to a committee for further consideration.
The Vermont Senate on the floor gave first readings and referred five bills to committees: S.74 on consumer health-data collection, sharing and sale; S.75 on transportation initiatives to improve equity and resiliency and reduce emissions; S.76 on health-equity data reporting and registry disclosure; S.77 on FY2026 appropriations from the opioid abatement special fund; and S.78 to create a Vermont–Ireland Trade Commission.
Senator Lyons was named as an introducer on several of the bills; Senator Baruth was listed as an introducer for S.78. The presiding officer read each bill title on the record and the Senate referred them to the following panels: S.74 and S.76 to the Committee on Health and Welfare; S.75 to the Committee on Transportation; S.77 to the Committee on Health and Welfare; and S.78 to the Committee on Economic Development, Housing, and General Affairs.
