The Rogers County Board of Commissioners approved a preliminary plat for Prairie Park subdivision, a proposed development in District 1 east of Carefree Valley along Highway 20.
Planning staff member Britney presented the plat on behalf of applicant Wallace Engineering and said the development covers about 97 acres with 87 lots and access from Highway 20 plus a dedicated northern access across an existing lot in Carefree Valley. "It's about 97 acres. There's gonna be a total of 87 lots within this subdivision," Britney told the board.
Britney said the subdivision lies outside the planning commission's zoning jurisdiction but will follow Rogers County subdivision regulations. A commissioner voiced support for the applicant's compliance with county subdivision rules and had no questions; the board then voted to approve the preliminary plat.
The approval allows the applicant to proceed with subdivision work consistent with county subdivision regulations; final platting and any required infrastructure agreements will follow county procedures.
