Chief Potassie said the city plans to staff four ambulances dedicated to the city with two additional units available for surge, using Maricopa firefighters and standardized equipment. He described benefits of local operation as dynamic deployment capacity and lower turnover compared with third‑party contractors. The council approved the resolution and directed staff to submit the application this month.
